While hundreds of thousands of people were in DC celebrating the Inauguration of President Obama, the Republicans in the Virginia Senate took advantage of the absence of civil rights leader Senator Henry Marsh to sneak through a re-districting vote. This is not the Virginia way of governing, and what the Republicans in the Senate did can only be described as outrageous.
That’s why the Democratic Party of Virginia is asking you to sign this petition urging Governor McDonnell to veto this overt gerrymandering as soon as it hits his desk.
